219/235 East 42nd Street

The office to residential conversion of the former Pfizer headquarters at 219/235 East 42nd Street will be the largest conversion in New York City history upon its completion in 2027. The original 9 story mid block building, built in 1909 of cast iron and terracotta, will be threaded through with a new poured concrete 30 story addition, while the adjacent 1960’ s era steel structure will feature both horizontal and vertical enlargements, alo ng with a complete re skinning of the facade. The adjoining pair of buildings will yield over 1.3M square feet, offering more than 1,600 apartments and over 100,000 square feet of amenities, a rooftop pool, a fitness center, and ground floor retail.
